How do I enter the Great Golden Contest?

One golden nugget (a secret word or phrase) will be dropped for explorers to find each Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the contest period (September 18 to 29). Follow ParticipACTION on Facebook, X (Twitter) and Instagram to learn the location of the nuggets, which will live in ParticipACTION x Travel Yukon social media posts, blogs, videos and on web pages. The locations of the nuggets will also be posted on this page (below). Once you’ve located the nugget (secret word or phrase), log it in the contest form to earn entries.

How do I increase my chances of winning?

There will be a total of six (6) golden nuggets dropped over the two-week contest period. The more nuggets you locate and enter with, the more entries you’ll earn, and the better your chances of winning! Additional actions will also be available to you on the contest form to earn bonus entries.

Do golden nuggets expire?

No! All six golden nuggets earn you entries for the entire contest period (September 18 to 29). Even if you locate and enter the six nuggets on the final contest day, you’ll still earn entries for each of the nuggets.

What is the prize?

The winner will receive a limited-edition 125th anniversary Klondike Gold Rush commemorative pure gold coin that depicts the 1896 discovery of gold in the Klondike region (retail value $3,999.95 CAD; face value $200.00). Per the Royal Canadian Mint, it is recommended to consult with a coin dealer before selling a collector coin, as businesses and financial initiations that accept them will only redeem for the face value of the coin. This no-longer-available collector’s piece has a low worldwide mintage of just 450.
