We want to hear your ideas on how to get Canada moving

Inactivity and sedentary behaviour in Canada is a problem too big for anyone to tackle alone. We try to do our best at ParticipACTION to help Canadians move more and sit less every single day, but a lot of work still needs to be done. And we need your help.

In fact, it’s not just us. The Federal, Provincial, and Territorial Governments want to hear what you have to say about physical activity in Canada. Ministers responsible for sport, physical activity, and recreation (SPAR) are working together to address the trend toward inactive and sedentary behaviour by creating a physical activity framework.

The Pan-Canadian Physical Activity Framework is intended to complement existing government and community-led policies and programs, while also considering new and emerging policy approaches. The framework will be completed for endorsement by federal, provincial, and territorial SPAR Ministers in July 2017.

But first they want to know your thoughts. Go fill out this quick, 20-minute survey to have your opinions heard (and to enter your name in a draw to win a free Fitbit!).

During this part of the consultation process, they’re interested in any and all of your ideas, and will use them to inform the direction, objectives, priorities, and scope of the framework, as well as a plan for performance measurement and evaluation.

It would be awesome if you could complete the online survey by November 11, 2016, and share it with anyone who you think would like to have a voice in the consultation process. Make  your voice heard!
